Welcome to Level Change Wrestling
The sport of wrestling has played an important part in my life. Since I was introduced to the sport at the age of 5 by my father, I have been using the life lessons learned while competing on the mat through college to become successful as a salesmen, business leader, and most importantly husband and father. The basic fundamentals of wrestling have not changed over the past 30+ years, and the essentials of developing and winning at wrestling have been drilled into me since my youth level days in Oklahoma. Since moving to Arizona a few years ago I have discovered that many wrestlers could benefit from additional instruction on the core fundamentals of this great sport - especially at the youth level as there is a lack of year round instruction and training available in the East Valley. Building a foundation of wrestling skills, and drilling until they become instinctual, is a key to success.
With that in mind, my desire to elevate the level of wresting in this area, and the high pressure prodding of my 6 year old son (T.J.) & 8 year old (Zach), I have created Level Change Wrestling Academy. The focus of my club is threefold:
- To introduce the sport to kids through the games approach and mat time weekly
- To build a solid foundation of the basics of wrestling including positioning, hand fighting, and technique
- To have fun and create a passion for the sport - then get competitive when ready!
The primary reason to send your child to Level Change Wrestling Academy lies in the importance of having positive and rewarding experiences while training, developing, and preparing for competition. Wrestling is a sport that can build strong self-discipline and work ethic, individual composure, foster humility and solid character if a coach seeks to bring out the best in his students in a constructive way. The coaches at Level Change believe that teaching and learning in this way will benefit students both on and off the mat throughout life.
Elementary kids from ages 5-12 are welcome - so bring your wrestling shoes and be prepared to work hard and HAVE FUN! For more information click on the join link at the top of the page.
